To the 35th LASUSU Executives and Parliamentary Members,
Congratulations on your inauguration and welcome to the Office 😊, we hope you administration brings a more positive impact to student unionism in LASU and prioritize the needs of the students populace.
As you begin your tenure, we want to remind you of the trust and responsibility that comes with your new roles.
To Mr. President, is our money safe with you?
You have a lot of work to be done, considering the fact that your predecessor is handing over an office recently tainted by misappropriation of funds among many other issues. LASUites want to know that they can trust you to not tow that same path.
At the same time, we would like you to remember that while you're representing the students at meetings and events, do not forget the students you're representing. We hope to not have a president who is everywhere except where he really should be.
Finally, we hope you always remember that LASU is beyond Ojo as we also have the Epe and Ikeja campuses and they need just as much attention.
To madam VP, make it worth it.
Your story of not giving up is one we really admire as an image of resilience that you are and we hope to even share your story sometime soon.
However, the academic life of students rests on your shoulders, and we hope that you are able to outperform your predecessors.
To Mr. Speaker, can we trust you?
We saw how your predecessor made history by standing against wrongdoing, or so it seemed, by suspending a president accused of misdemeanour. We hope we can trust you to also stand against wrongdoing and maintain your stand for the benefit of LASUites.
To the Financial Secretary and Treasurer, greed is not uncommon to the offices you occupy but we hope you fight your desire and put the interest of the students above yours as you carry out your duties.
To the PRO
Your office is far from the least and like your predeccesor, you hold the power to shape how this administration is seen.
You have big shoes to fill, and this is not because your predecessor always wore big shoes but because there is a lot to be done. Your predecessor had laid several foundations, and it is up to you to either build on them or ruin them and begin a new one.
We expect you in your best possible capacity sustain and improve the link between the union, student media and your student community. We are rooting for you!
To every other executive and parliamentary member, we hope you do not assume you are invisible, we also have expectations from you, with every single thing you promised to do, we would be holding you to them.
Finally, to the entire 35th LASUSU executives and Parliamentary members, the media is a watchdog and we'll be doing our job to keep you on your toes while we anticipate the positive impact you would have ❤️.
Congratulations and welcome to office.
