This newsletter contains the best places to eat in LASU based on popular opinion. If you don't know any of the places you are about to read then something is wrong with you.
I'm sure you agree with this quote "Good food is the foundation of genuine happiness". With all the shege and stress that comes with being a LASUite, one sure way to forget your sorrows is to eat the delicious meals served by the best food spots in LASU. There are tons of food spots in LASU but this newsletter is focusing on the best of the best.
Iya Khalid and Iya Dayo
We cannot talk about food in LASU without mentioning the two food giants in LASU—Iya Khalid and Iya Dayo. These two names are like Wizkid and Davido in the music industry(argue with your keyboard).
However, IYA KHALID is taking the lead because she seems to have more fans (I'll call them the "Iya Khalidites"). Her tasty meals can make you empty your bank account, her food is always on point, and she sells a variety of meals like beans and dodo( the best in LASU), beans and yam, rice etc. You should know her shop, but if you don't then I will tell you for free: her buka is located at Eco market few shops after Amala Extra. Ask anyone you are going to Iya Khalid and you'll be directed.
On the other hand, there is Iya Dayo. When next you eat at Iya Dayo's place remember to crown her because she is the queen of yummy food. Hers is the perfect definition of "all hits, no misses". She always makes her customers come back for more with her tantalizing menu of jollof rice, salad, beans and so on.
Food pro tip 🌹
If you want to eat the correct bread and beans in LASU, Iya Ashabi's place at the Faculty of Education is where you should be. Her bread and beans will make you fall in love with local food.
Amala Extra
To Amala lovers, Amala Extra at Eco market is the best place to be. Their hot amala, a delicious stew with gbegiri and ewedu is unarguably the best. Not to mention their variety of meat (cow meat, ponmo, ogunfe and the list is endless). Stop salivating, go and try them out yourself. But let me warn you; eating at Amala Extra is expensive compared to how much the average student can spend at cheap restaurants like Iya Khalid and Iya Dayo. But we only live once so spend that money!
Students' Arcade
If you are a lover of luxury or you want to go on a date, then you should explore the Students' Arcade. It is a different world on its own. ZOT parfait, The real Jawn and Amala Super D food are nice places to visit at the Arcade.
Since food plays a major role in our school life. Should we consider organising the "Food Sellers Awards"? I'm just sharing my unsolicited opinion but if this was to happen, Eco market will be awarded for best kitchen on campus because students from all faculties go there to eat when their faculty kitchen fail them.
Have a fun-packed semester.
Live, love, eat!
